It seems strange that a story taking place a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away would contain a Shakespeare reference. It really doesn't make sense. But Roger MacBride Allen's Showdown At Centerpoint does contain a reference to The First Part Of King Henry The Fourth. Roger MacBride Allen writes, "An explosion broke up one B-wing, and the other decided that discretion was the better part of valor" (p. 287). That of course is a reference to Falstaff's famous speech in which he says, "The better part of valor is discretion, in the which better part I have saved my life." Star Wars: Showdown At Centerpoint was published in October 1995.
